- Its per app license based on apps . We have app and storage license so app license will allow to customer to migrate application along with 200 GB.
- License which is based on microservices.
- One microservice object stands for one license and we gives 200 GB quota storage volume size per license. So, if you buy 2 license, then you will get 400 GB storage.
- Typically when you need license, so you will count service objects but its not service same.
- We also look at how many volumes, services indirectly using like service is pointing to pod which are created for deployment and those pod using 100 GB volumes.
- Every applications services license comes up with 200 GB quota , so what that means replicate that service pod, service point to pod and have up to 200 GB size volumes, but its not count as a microservice.
- We have migration and DR license and off course migration license is to replicate between 2 clusters.
- In the DR-Backup license it will enable the all the backup features too, including incremental backup. There is no any restriction how many backups you create on SWIFT.
- There is special subscription license in some of the cloud marketplace has our listings, those are pay-as-you-go license. It will charge based on per vCPU per hour. There is no storage restriction.
- SWIFT doesn’t find any micro-service during a sync run with the selected Kubernetes/OpenShift object and as its dependency, then it will track everything synced under a placeholder logical micro-service and consume one application license for it. Such placeholder service tracking is namespace scoped, so such non-service syncs will each consume an application license for each synced namespace.
- If you introduce a microservice in a synced namespace in the future, SWIFT will automatically include it under the existing placeholder microservice license.
When SWIFT is installed:
- When SWIFT is installed, will get a 2 free service license , we can say Free tier licenses. Customer will be able to migrate 2 apps up to 400 GB storage for free.
- Even if you don't have license , we still able to access the SWIFT as SWIFT always runs even if license expires.
