The Disaster Recovery (DR) Policy provides a structured approach to maintain business continuity during unexpected outages, disasters, or critical failures. DR Policy is simple configuration where it tells frequent sync.
The purpose of a DR policy is to define when and how your application data should be backed up (Stage 1) and/or restored to the target cluster (Stage 2) for disaster recovery
1. To create a DR policy, you need to log in to the SWIFT dashboard and navigate to the ‘DR Policy’ under the Business Continuity & DR menu and click on ‘New’ button. Please see below screenshot.
2. After a click on ‘New’ you will get a new prompt to create a DR policy by selecting Sync type. Please check the screenshot below for more details. So, based on the requirement you can select the sync type and set a frequency. Add screenshot.
Field Name | Field Description |
Policy Name | The name of the sync policy you create . |
Sync type | The kind of sync you want to perform: Passthrough: It just migration Stage1: Data will be moved from source to SWIFT Stage2: Data will be moved from SWIFT to target |
Periodicity | How often the sync should run. 1. By schedule: Run daily or weekly at a set time. 2. By Frequency: Run every few minutes (e.g., 5 min, 10 min). 3. Once – Run at a specific time, triggers DRP once. 4. Continuous – Runs continuously, triggering DRP one after another. 5. Exclude on: You will get an option when you want to exclude. e.g. Sunday, Monday, etc. |
Email Alert | Email Alert – If you provide an email address, you will receive notifications for every successful and failed DRP event. If you select 'Sync Failure Only,' you will receive notifications only when a sync fails. |
3. Once you click on 'Create' button, Policy will be created with IDLE state then you can see as below. Please check screenshot below.
