This document provides the supported platform and compatibility details for RackWare SWIFT. It helps users understand which Kubernetes platforms, OpenShift versions, cloud environments, and operating systems are supported for SWIFT. The purpose of this support matrix is to help you verify environment compatibility before starting SWIFT deployment, migration, replication, backup, or disaster recovery activities.

Please review the supported matrix carefully before planning or deploying SWIFT in your environment.

Suppor Matrix for SWIFT

1. Supported Operating Systems

SWIFT supports the following Linux distributions:

CategorySupported Operating System
Linux OSCentOS 9 Stream

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9

Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) 9

2. On-Premises Kubernetes / OpenShift Platforms

SWIFT supports the following container orchestration platforms.

Platform TypeSupported version/Types
KubernetesKubernetes 1.14 to 1.35
RancherKubernetes Cluster version 1.14+
VMwarevsphere 6.5+
Redhat OpenShiftOpenShift 4.5 to 4.21

3. Cloud Kubernetes / OpenShift Platforms

SWIFT supports major public cloud Kubernetes services, including:

Cloud Provider Kubernetes / OpenShift Service
AWSAmazon EKS
Google CloudGoogle Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
Microsoft Azure Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Oracle CloudOracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE)

6. Platform Certifications

SWIFT is officially certified by:

Certified ByCertification scope
RedhatOpenShift & Enterprise Linux
OCIOracle Cloud
Microsoft AzureAzure Kubernetes & Platform Validation
Rancher RKERancher Kubernetes Platform

These certifications ensure platform-level validation for enterprise-grade reliability.

7. Supported SWIFT Use Cases

SWIFT enables multiple enterprise mobility and protection workflows:

Use case categoryDescription
MigrationCloud-to-cloud container migration, On-prem to cloud workload migration
Disaster Recovery Cross-cluster DR replication (Kubernetes/OpenShift)
Multi-CloudMulti-cloud application migration
ReplicationRegistry replication
DR Automation Dynamic DR provisioning across clusters

8. SWIFT Storage Compatibility Matrix (Source Platforms)

The storage support matrix listed below applies to the source-side storage platforms. On the target side, SWIFT is generally forward compatible with supported deployment environments.

Note: However, target storage class is important for Disaster Recovery (DR) policies where fallback operations may be required. During fallback, the target environment becomes the source environment. Therefore, the target storage should also be from the supported storage list to avoid issues during DR fallback operations.
